This one already has its own thread but I will add it to the tally of the community thread. I shot this one on the afternoon I shot the button a few post above after being in the stand 10 minutes and on the phone with my wife. ![[Linked Image]](http://www.newfreedomchurch.org/images/dsc02750a_781.jpg) Taxi gave me a guick turn around only three weeks and I got my mount back. Got this guy wayyyyy up high after a 1.5 hour climb,,, course that put me with a long drag but all down hill,,,,Saw a 75-80 pound bear realllly close and a great horned Owl before finding this guy,,was stalking/still hunting 40 yard shot through the mid neck and he flopped,,, that was the only shot I had before he could decide if I was dangerous or not. ![[Linked Image]](http://public.blu.livefilestore.com/y1pJSip9WdUQtsQlUYoUVMgaAj563lMacrUer12myTLotHgrp7nncaHPq--xiEbBINzm9xSPC9blG3v-Mv-8MYcPg/8%20point%2011-09%20004.jpg) Not a big deer for many of you guys but a nice one for around here also got a cowhorn spike on opening day,and a small hog during deer ML season,,, canned 28 quarts of deer and 12 of hog this year. I just had this Had my deer scored Just as a reference he is 111 6/8 with 1 5/8 deductions for a final of 110 1/8 Gonna have him on the wall later,,, Only supprise I had from the measurments was that the bases are 4 inches around at the smallest, bigger than I thought

If you took the deer that particular day, it looks like you put your time in. Congratulations!!!! Last few years, I prefer the neck shot over any other. 99% or the time, they're DRT!!!!!!!!!!

Was very lucky this season having only gone once for a three day weekend hunt at my Bro-in-laws place near Mertzon Texas. Shot was about 80 yards with an old Springfield 03 with military barrel dropped in a Fajan stock. This is my best yet with 9 points, 20 1/2" inside spread and 180 lbs and one very happy hunter. Thanks and it is. The wife and I built a house on some land her folks gave us. Very lucky to be near a city and still be able to walk out the door into the woods.
Plenty of game to hunt, deer, rabits, grouse, woodcock, turkeys, moose, bear and of course all the little creatures.
Got some video of a good size cow moose meandering through the back yard back in June and my wife saw a big black bear eating in our garden in August. Turkey's galore back there. Very luck indeed to be able hunt from the back door.

I might go out one more time and try to kick a buck up off the river this afternoon, but the season is definitely winding down for me. I had a great one this year; made 26 deer hunts, saw 48 deer, shot two does with my .257 RBTS, and killed a decent 11 point buck with my M88 .284 WIN. I had three rookie deer hunters I have been mentoring score their first deer while hunting with me this season and was privileged to be asked to guide two wounded warriors from Camp Lejeune for a couple of days of deer hunting. I really couldn't ask much more out of hunting than what I have received this season. I almost forgot that RAS from the fire came and hunted with me a day too - he shot a nice eight.
