I just ended up with a Win 94 that has a case color hardened action, circa 1971. (BTW, is case color hardened the correct term?) Most of the color except for a small patch about the size of a dime has faded to a sick looking splotchy sand brown color.
Can this coloring be re-done, or am I stuck with this?
Thanks for the info...
Neil

Yes, the color case hardening can be redone. It is a form of heat treatment. One outfit that does excellent work at reasonable prices is Color Case Company, 14435 Unity Road Box 27, New Springfield, OH 44443 phone 216-542-2062.Owners name is Donald Menk-nice fella and can answer all your questions.Regards,Frank.
