There are some 2008 promotional Model 700s out there for Buckmasters and the ADL Synthetic, both in synthetic camo stocks, in .25-06, 7mm Rem Mag, .270 Win and .30-06 with 24-inch barrels, and .243, 7mm-08 and .308 Win with 22-inch barrels.

They are pretty reasonable, some as cheap as $400 on sale.
Has anyone tried any of them?

Just sold my Colt 6920 and used the funds to buy my son his first dedicated hunting rifle, a 700 youth "Buckmasters" in .243, pleased with the quality just from handling it but haven't had a chance to wring it out yet. I'll report back when we get him out with pics if you're still interested. BTW, got a Nikon Buckmasters scope so it would match up nicely, kinda corny but whatever.

I just saw one of those over Christmas time, with the camo stock and matching camo Nikon? I know, a bit corny, but for the right price I could lose the stock and scope, recoup some of the money spent on the rig, and have a cheap barreled action. Is yours a 22 or 24 inch bbl?

The owner of this particular rifle/scope was from Missouri, where are they selling those combos?

It wasn't a combo and the Nikon is matte finish with the BDC reticle. The youth is a 20 inch barrel.
