Thanks Critr.
Hope everyone likes it as much. Wait 'til you get a chance to start playing with some of the new stuff. I really like the "Today's Active Topics" link on the right side of the Forum Index.
Still trying all the new stuff, though.
Rick

Phil:
What do you mean again? This is the first time since we launched. And you won't see another change around here for quit a time, so relax and enjoy.
As to SpellCheck, the company that was offering that as a link to all UBB forums suspended their free service, so UBB did not include them. Rumors are that they are another potential dot-bomb.
I liked them to, but I also liked AllOutdoors.
Rick

Tom:
Please explain what's going on more thoroughly. So far, I have heard of no problems like yours, so I need more info.
Rick

Just found out there's a big router down somewhere in the Pacific Northwest. Lots of folks having troubles. So it may be that it's neither us or you, just a hitch in between.

Rick, I like it. It took a whle to load the first time I signed on today, but seems to be working well for me now. Ain't it good to see the AllOutdoors crew coming over? badger.

Rick, why won't the image work in my signature? There is no "Instant UBB Code" buttons when you go into "my profile" and the UBB commands don't seem to work.....

Rick, I'm getting to like. The edit feature works better, and I like the quick select buttons for the Instant "UBB code".
I'll have to try a few pictures.
Phil

Critr:
As of now I still have the "Images in Signature" feature disabled. The reason is because I've looked at some of the other Boards and it seems that everyone ends up adding an image and the Board slows noticeably down.
That having been said, you know I am nothing if not open to suggestions, so maybe we can put it out for comments. It's a trade-off guys and gals. We can enable images in signatures, no problem, but the Board will be slower. Is it worth it? It's up to you.
Rick

Sig images were fine at first when they were 100 x 100 pixels and under 10k in size. Then the pics grew to larger and larger pics up to 100k in size. Next came the animated .gif sig images, one I've seen is over 300k. On my 46k modem dialup it takes about 3 1/2 minutes for me to load 1 meg of images.
Who wants to wait for 500k to 1 meg of of sig images you've already seen 40x to load, AGAIN. Only about 20% of the Internet users have broadband so the rest of us have to sit and wait for a thread to load just to see a 3 sentence text reply.
A small image or none at all works the best for speed.
Update looks god Rick, you want to do mine?
