I'm selling this shotgun for my step sister, who is trying to raise funds to help out her sister. She inherited it from her father. It is a Model 12, 12 gauge with a full choke 28 inch barrel. It was manufactured in 1962 and appears to be a field grade gun, with a couple obvious upgrades. It has a Simmons ventilated rib and the wood is way beyond standard. I don't know enough about Model 12's to offer an opinion on factory vs. secondary market additions. The wood is in near perfect condition with what looks to be an original Winchester pistol grip cap. However, the buttpad, which looks original to the wood given the fit and finish, is not marked Winchester--it is marked "Presentation Model Pachmayr White Line". Again, the wood is in near perfect condition and checkering is like new. The bluing on the receiver is also near perfect (the pic of the left side of the receiver shows lines, those are just oil residue from the rag I wiped down the gun with). The barrel is the part that confuses me about the gun. It has obviously been wiped down, or rubbed, with steel wool (see the pics of the barrel next to the receiver). Those rub marks run the entire length of the barrel. It is obvious that the barrel was not removed when these marks were made, as you can see the non-rubbed areas next to the receiver. Also, the rub marks are not through the bluing. The bore is clean.

Regardless, we're selling this as a shooter. The wood alone, is probably worth $400, but selling a barreled action would be a pain in the butt. So, if you have a Model 12 that is begging for some extraordinary wood, and you can swap the wood with this one, or if you want a VERY nice looking shooter, this is for you. I'm asking $600 shipped. The gun is on the C&R list and is C&R eligible. I accept money orders and cashiers' checks.

Thanks.

The serial numbers that can be seen in pic 4 are matching.

I forgot some essentials. It is a 12 gauge with a full choke barrel that is 28 inches long.

And here are the remaining pics.

Do you know the buttstock dimensions or can you measure them?
LOP?
DAC?
DAH?
Cast?
Thanks!

There are a lot more ½" rifles than ½" shooters.
