I started a thread earlier about deciding to hunt with a bow. I picked up my new-to-me bow today. Its a BowTech 101st Airborne. It appears to be very lightly used and came with drop-down release, Deadnutz fiber-optic sights, Limb-Saver Stabilizer, a dozen carbon/graphite arrows w/broadheads and fieldheads, quiver, case and release. Got the whole package for $500. In its current configuration, the draw length is a bit long. Its set at 31 inches and I'm going to adjust it down to 30. Its set at 65lbs, supposedly. Haven't checked yet. Just for giggles, I took it out with a friend who knows a bit about archery. It was a bit uncomfortable at first, but I was able to shoot decently with it. I don't have a whole lot of experience, so I didn't split any arrows or anything
After getting comfortable with it, I was able to shoot groups in the 5 inch range at 40 yards. I'm really excited! By September, I should be a lot more consistent and have a better feel for the bow.
