This time a year ago most of us were concerned about what was coming in the way of gun control (and somebody just posted "THIS IS TRUE... the Blair Holt bill again) - so I guess some people are still worried.
But now, is anyone kind of hoping the democrats will go ahead and try it? November is still a long ways away, and American voters have a way of having very short memories. Health Care could be a distant memory by then.
Can you imagine anything more suicidal then dredging back up the Assault Rifle Ban, or something like it? I really do kind of hope they give it a shot. I think if they do, it's something we'll be able to put behind us for a long time.

If you closely read the Heller case, a new AWB is unconstitutional on its face.
Yeah, I hope they try it.

They will seek another route other than an all out ban. It will pay to remain vigilant.

Anyone who thinks they have forgotten gun control is kidding themselves. They just have other priorities now. It will come--in some fashion

Not for a while. They are too busy trying to save their own azzes this year.

agreed, the Dems want gun control, much like I want a new Ferrari.
but can't afford it right now. It's a pipe dream
still it's always in the mind.
serious attempts for gun control will not happen until you get serious escalation in crime.
that WILL happen if the economy continues to deteriorate and I believe it will.
we've made some major strides in support of 2nd amm. rights in recent years
and as freedom for the 2nd increased, crime decreased by and large.
when the crime rate goes up significantly and desperation will lead to much more violent crime.
then those that favor gun control will point to "see we told ya, all of this private firearm ownership took awhile to go bad, but it did, and NOW our police can't even protect us for fear of being shot"
it's coming, we'd best be prepared

If the Supreme Court incorporates the 2nd Amendment this summer, which I believe the will, things are likely to get whole lot better.

You won't see any attempt at gun control until after next November. I hopes that they will still control the Senate. Even more likely it will be a second term thing for the messiah because then he isn't going to worried about another term as President.

fogitaboutitt ante gonna happen ever. Never forget about it! And bear in mind that what the UN wants is universal gun bans so don't be surprised if Hussein tries something and says he is only responding to the UN. Just do not get too relaxed!

As for "gun control," the neolib progressives, for all practcal purposes, 99% of the Democratic Party, NEVER, EVER, DISENGAGE!!!
If they lose a skirmish, they merely fall back a few steps, then come at you from another direction. Incessantly.
In order for them to finally achieve their decades long goal, instituting their "Great Brave New Marxist Socialist Fascist Police State Utopia," all the worker peasant rabble must be disarmed.
Again, they never, ever, disengage!

Yep,and Hillary is still pushing for the US to agree to the International firearms control at the UN. As Reagan said, our freedom is always just one genertaion away from losing it.
Good articles in the NRA American Rifleman that just came out.
