Mike, I don't know. I received my information from the Winchester/Browning rep in a discussion we had at an area gunshop in Eastern NC. For what it is worth, I had also read about Winchester moving some of their parts production to SC on several of the HuntAmerica.com forums over the past year. There was a period during the move that obtaining M70's was very difficult. The Win/Brn rep told me that the M70 and M94 receivers where being produced in SC and that the production bugs had all been worked out. Now, as USRAC and Browning are part of FN now, and FN USA is HQ'd in SC, that may be the place to start looking. Sorry I couldn't tell you more. Odessa

FN has a plant in Columbia that produces M16's. That may be it. I will check it out. Maybe they offer tours. I would like to tour such a place.

Coincidental to this thread, I was just reading the Guns and Ammo special on Model 70's. In one of the articles the writer stated that the barrels for Model 70's are now being made in Columbia SC. I would guess that USRAC/FN only has one plant in SC. Maybe that is the one, let us know what you find out. Odessa
