Already have a ghost ring in rear with firesight up front...when I get the AO Scout mount...which scope would you experienced guys recommend of these:<P>Leupold 1-4x20 Vari X-II<P>Burris 1.75-5x20 Fullfield<P>Both are same price $219.00 new in box...I know about the Big L name and reputation..but also have heard good about Burris...these will be mounted using Leupold QR rings on the AO Scout mount...<BR>thanks...<P>------------------<BR>keep em sharp,<P>ron herman

Neither. Get the Leupold M8 Scout Scope. It is a fixed 2.5 power. I have one mounted on my scout rifle and it is perfect. 4X will be too much magnification for both eyes open type shooting. <BR>The Leupold scout scope is a great piece of glass and is perfectly suited to this type of shooting. It is what I will mount on my Guide Gun when the time comes.

Tradhunter,<P>Neither the Leupold nor the Burris you mention are designed to use in a Scout configuration. You'd put them out on the barrel, and wouldn't be able to see through them. The M8 is designed for this use having a long eye relief that will let you look through at that distance. I'd buy Leupold anytime I'd have the cash....that is about every other rifle on my rack. :-)<P>El Lobo in NM
