When I was a boy there was a magazine called Rod and Gun In Canada.
My only complaint with it was that is was too thin. You could read it in about two minutes. No ads I guess?
It had a great many interesting stories in it such as stories about the big wolves in northern Alberta, old cougar attacks, Swan Hills grizzly bears etc.
I also remember a story about a camp cook in Northern Ontario who had shot 500 nuisance bears breaking into his cook house.
I would love to scan through it again. Does anyone know a library that keeps old copies of this magazine or is it somewhere on the internet?

"Rod and Gun" merged with "Fur, Fish and Game" in the 60's or 70's.

I don't think that is the case. I saw the same post on the internet a few years ago and I am pretty sure I sent "Fur Fish a nd Game an e-mail to ask thm if they had old copies and they replied that they did not know anything about Rod and Gun In Canada magazine.

Rod & Gun in Canada, I got a stack of them from 1945 up to about 1970 or so, great magazines until the late 60's early 70's.
