Best I have ever used is a Sako 85. Workmanship and detail are beautiful, and function must be felt to be believed. I have literally had to double check whether a cartridge has fed or not, 'cause I never felt it. And yes, it has always fed. Trigger is fantastic as well.

I replace valve cover gaskets every 50K, if they don't need them sooner...

The only short actions I have owned have been Winchester and they performed flawlessly.

When kissing with eyes open, I always suggest the Sako!

The Winny/FN were built for the WSM's. I have a semi-custom 7wsm on an FN action. I can shoot the long heavies without losing powder capacity and still fit the mag box.
The Remington is too short to get all the goody from a WSM case, IMO...BTDT.
This opinion is geared toward the reloader. If one chooses to shoot factory fodder, I would still pick the Winny for those cases but the Rem will work.
I dont have exp. with the Sako WSM action.

Sako 75 or 85 take your pick. I have had short mags in Win 70 both CRPF and CRF. Browning Abolt. Vanguards and Remington. The absolute smoothest feeding action is the Sako.

Rem 700/M7. I have a 270wsm and 7saum that feed great and shoot amazingly well. Have a SS 700 Short Mag action in the safe that's I'm going to build a very very heavy 7wsm with.

Don't know "best".
My Kimber is damn fine though. Feeds well, is light, smooth, etc.
The CENTER will hold.
