I'm kind of suprised not one mention of the Nosler 95gr Ballistic tips?

Why is it called a double u, should'nt it be called a double v?

I can also say that I am a firm believer in the Barnes 85 gr TSX. I have killed at least 7 deer with this bullet and have had no issues. Great bullets have hever failed to do exactly what I expected. I have takesn deer from 35 to 325yrds and most of the shots have resulted in immetiate faceplants.

I like the 95 grain BT for varmints and the 95 grain Partition for deer/antelope. I used to use the 85 grain Sierra BTHP for deer/antelope, but had a couple of failures and switched over to the Partition.

My wife killed this nice cow moose with a 243 Handirifle and a load of 95 grain Partition and H414 IIRC.

[Linked Image]

The bullet destroyed a rib and jellied the lungs. Ma moose went about 30 feet before she tipped over.

She's shooting a 30-06 now.

The 100g Hornady BTSP is a really great bullet for deer in the 243, especially with IMr 4350 and a Win primer, bullet touching the lands.

My second choice would be the 95g Partition.

Yes. Here's something I wrote about a friend's deer this season.

Quote
My buddy shot her quartering away at 162 yards and the shot was angled down slightly since he shot her from an elevated stand. The entrance was in the back edge of the left shoulder and out the front edge of the right. After the hide was off I found a pinkie sized entrance wound with little bruising and a slightly larger exit with externally visible bruising in a nickel to quarter sized area symmetrically around the hole.

The bullet passed below the spine and wrecked the front end of the lungs and blood vessels coming upward/forward from the heart. Further examination revealed broken bone and some meat loss in the exit side shoulder. It was busted up pretty well but wasn't the big "jelly mess" folks complain about.

Likewise, I've killed several antelope with the .243 95gr SST. All through the chest and/or shoulder. All had good exit holes with shots from 100-200yds from my 243 Win. Clearly good expansion.

An 87 Gr Hornady Inteloc over about 42 Gr of 4350 will stop any deer or antelope you put in front of it from 300 in.

I load the 100 grain Rem Core lokts cuz there cheap and they get the job done. You can get 500 of them for about 75 dollars from midway.

My Ruger is 1:10 twisted and shoots the 70-85s well but shoots 100-105s in groups like a shotgun then I got a remington twisted 1:9 and I shot a group at 100 yds with it last month that measured .210 with 100 gr. sierras,as it loves the 100-105s but shoots the lighter bullets like a 410,with 243s I always mate the bullet to the twist rate.........

broken bones broken heart stripped down an torn apart a lil rust but Im still runnin countin miles countin tears twisted roads and shiftin gears year after year its all or nothin Im not home and Im not lost just holdin on 2 what I got...God and Guns

I've had real good luck with the 100g Nosler Partition. My tube is 20", so I don't get nearly some of the velocities I've seen quoted but the deer sure don't seem to know the difference.

I traded into one of the snub nosed Ruger compacts a few days back. It's chambered in .243, and I am debating what bullet to run in it. I'd love to try some of the 87 grain Hornadys but can't find them in stock anywhere.

Also considering the 80 and 90 grain Ballistic Tip.

Is the 87 grainer an Interlock? I don't see a cannelure in the pics on Midway.
