In general I like IMR 4895 for my 358 loads. However, I use IMR 4320 with Sierra's 225 BTSP for a very accurate load at optimal velocity. I would probably try either of these though, if Varget is what you want to use - and it is probably a good propellent, try giving Nosler a call.

I never could get the velocity from Varget that I wanted. TAC works very well and Xterminator even better in the .358.

I have just started trying Varget, so far it has proved very accurate with 200 grn Hornady SP, I have not cronoed it yet ,
I have been using IMR 4895 and 200 grn Hornady SP for a few years with outstanding results
I am interested in trying the Varget with the 225 partition and the 220 speer
The hodgden 2004 annual lists 49grns as max for 225grn
as does the Sierra volume V
Lyman #48 lists Varget for the 200,220&250 grn bullets
max loads are 54, 52 an 46 grns
so far varget is more accurate than my 4895 load but I have not shot it enough to come to any solid conclusions, as of late it has become a time thing hunting an working no time for range work.
