I just can't shed any tears for a Socialist Democrat. He served his country and then became a traitor. Good Riddance as far as I'm concerned. Maybe Nancy and Harry will follow suit.

Few are listening to that crowd at this point, although Hillary still has her followers and probably has picked up a lot of Barry's by now too.

To the chorus tune of an old hymn:

Like a boil upon you aaaaaas, he shall not be missed!

I would have said the same thing if he hadn't turned his back on his fellow Marines. I turned my back on him. I will never acknowledge his service, screw him with a red hot poker. Twice.

Condolences to his family, as dealing with death is never easy. However, I am not sad to see his politics go. Thankfully, he was not my Rep, though his District is a mere 30 minutes away. It'll be interesting to say the least as far as seeing what happens. Considering the demographics in that area, it won't surprise me if they elect another Dem to take his place, though I'm hoping they don't.

If anyone loved him, my condolences to them. And I thank him for "taking a hit for the team". We can do better and we must.

Two things strike me as odd about this. One, what honorable reason was there to keep wraps on Murtha's passing? The family is entitled to privacy and all, but it to announce nearly a week after the fact that he passed, smells of media manipulation. Still, haven't read a news article citing the day he passed, only that he did. Sad to think anyone feared the story would steal oxygen from O's SOTU limelight.

Two, quotes like this: "Murtha 'was the first Vietnam veteran to serve in Congress, and he was incredibly effective in his service in the House,' said Rep. David Obey, a Democrat and chairman of the House Appropriations Committee. 'He understood the misery of war. Every person who serves in the military has lost an advocate and a good friend today.'" - well, no, would respectfully disagree. He may have understood the misery of war, and pretty clear he extrapolated that a bit too far, or rather conjecture on the verge of fabrication, in his political posturing. No friend of mine.

A dim bulb at best there.

More likely, they needed to get the party line in motion before the "dead Kennedy" effect started rolling.
