I am out of order until further notice. My "stupid people" filter needs cleaning and my "give a damn" batteries have run out.

We are not for sure going yet. If we don't I'm sure I'll be up there fishing too.

we took the snow smasher out on a fish house rescue tonight, me & the boy (runs with scissors) this is snow smashing... stuck in that last picture, if ya can't tell Got out though. Both houses were loose but I think we have to move them, if even just a little bit. mine is already moved off of it's spot, I slid it over a bit to the north. We've got kind of a bowl in there, it just don't look good. I bet it would flood if we drilled a hole. we'll be able to get dusty's out too, probably have to drag it a bit though, can't really back up to it. There is a bunch of nasty ice drifts that have a crust strong enough to hold your truck up long enough for you to fall through with the tires & be trapped. That's how we got stuck tonight, trying to plow to Dusty's house. We'll have to skid it forward 25' or so then we can hitch on.
Something clever here.

As a lifelong southerner I have trouble even imagining the amount of snow you guys deal with routinely every year. Good pictures,Dave(as usual).

I've been thinkin more and more about getting my house off the lake.
seems like it wouldn't be a bad idea, especially since the fishing sucks, of course the day they start biting will be the day after I pull it off..... never fails

I don't see the flashing light moving on the truck Dave? It looks ruff going out there now. how was the main trail? Do you have a GPS to see the structure out there?

When we were kids, we got our house frozen to the lake and couldn't get it off. I was the only one that ever carried tools, so we punched a hole out the back, and ran a chain through it. Wraped the chain around a board, and pulled that sucker off the floor. somewhere in the bottom of fish lake in the floor to our ice house. It was a mess!

How'd ya get that out Dave...Looks like a pretty good one. I hadn't cracked my house loose yet, easy to crack loose if you lift straight up on an end or a corner but it makes for a hell of an anchor point if you hook on for a sideways pull. Remember these corner loops I welded on to the steel frame for under the house? We tied on to one of those corners with a long strap & a come along. got a good stretch pull out of it & eventually we got the truck out. I don't see the flashing light moving on the truck Dave? It looks ruff going out there now. how was the main trail? Do you have a GPS to see the structure out there? I have an older gps with my own points stored from summer fishing. The main road is open to the 5 mile, I expect the guy will be widening the road some today. I talked to him on the phone yesterday & he wasn't all that happy though. He spent a bunch of money on fuel to get that road open yesterday, burned like 30 gallons in his big truck. He checked his money box when he was done & there was 4 bucks in there. Some people just don't understand what it takes to keep a 5 mile long lake road open out there. $5 is all he's asking per truck & that aint bad at all. We'll need to move those houses, thinking about moving them to the north. I did as much as I dared last night with one truck out there after dark. You don't want to get too stupid out there or you'll be there for the night.

Thats no good if no one is paying. Its only 5 bucks. pretty cheap to have a road out there. tons of houses out there so should be plenty of money coming in if they are paying. Too bad. Gonna be hard to get him to keep it up at that rate. could be a cold night out on the lake you get the truck stuck and no where to go.
