PPc-- try to hook up with a veteran turkey hunter to maybe take you out for a few mornings. One or two Gobbles at a close range will get you hooked. Very Very exciting sport. For ticks use a Permanone Insect Repellent . Great stuff . Web

Too late... he's already gone, been skunked and ready to try again! Turkey hunting is by far my favorite hunting(elk is right there also as I equate it to hunting a 800 lb turkey that can smell)...the chess match and pro-active nature is addictive!

dvdegeorge-- It's funny you say chess match about turkey hunting. When people ask me what is turkey hunting is like? I tell them that the way I hunt turkeys, listen to locate the Tom and moving , using the lay of the land and woods -- sometimes,moving 6 to 7 times on a bird- to be in a final setup . Is like playing chess with the Tom and making him take the last move,thinking he is going to be a big winner with a hen, but getting a load of #6's instead.-- Life is a chess game. Web
