Ok, I know this sounds stupid, but does someone make a quick-detach scope setup for marlin 336's? just picked up a 30-30 the other day, was kinda thinking about going with a peep site, but I am not sure,,any help would be appreciated,,BEARHUNTER

I have one on an old Marlin that I like very much. I think Weaver made it. It consists of a channel-shaped rail that screws to the top of the receiver, and rings that clamp to the rail at grooves and hand-tighten with knobs. It holds point of aim very well when you remove it and replace it. You can see the iron sights through the channel when the scope is removed. -al

BearHunter: Hate to admit my vulnerability to flashy new things, but: in fits of weakness, I've tried a coupl'a new QD setups, including Leupold's and Warne. Truth be known, none showed ANY improvement over the old ugly Weaver for retaining zero. They may be prettier, but I question their ruggedness in comparison. -John
