Sales drive the decision to keep or drop a product
I got banned on another web site for a debate that happened on this site. That's a first

Just like they dropped the 1.8-5.5, which has become my favorite low end variable.

The 2.5-8 Conquest is a good match of price/performance and was able to get one from Cameralandny after hunting season when everybody else had run out of remaining stock. Hard to find fault with the little Zeiss other than maybe giving it a 36mm objective. BTW great service from Cameralandny.

Hard to find fault with the little Zeiss other than maybe giving it a 36mm objective. Likely the biggest reason for its downfall. Owned a couple of them too. Scope always looked a little awkward with the ocular being larger than the objective. If Zeiss ever figures the clumsy ocular, Leupold is certain to feel it on the bottom line. (select few: spare the "already are" response )

When they cost more than the 3x9 it is hard to sell them
A Doe walks out of the woods today and says, that is the last time I'm going to do that for Two Bucks.

Well, actually the 2.5-8 was $399 when the regular 3-9 conquests were raised up to $499 last year. The 3-9x40 Zplex now stands at $399, which I believe to be a good buy.
