Ballistic Silvertips are exactly the same bullets as Nosler Ballistic Tips, but in different colors. They do exactly the same things when they hit game.

I tried them in my 25-06, they were very accurate, just never got around to using them on game[yet]. But I'll take JB's word that they work just fine. Tom

JB is correct as usual. Ballistic Silvertips are exactly the same bullet with a different colored tip as Nosler BT. Matter of fact they ARE Nosler BTs.

Agree with all above. Nosler and Winchester took the BT and put Winchesters Lubalox coating on them, same coating as the old Black Talon ammo. I've taken deer over 600 yard with a 300 Ultra and 180 BST, one shot kills. They also shoot sub MOA groups (handloads) out of my M700 BDL. My stepfather has the same results with them in his 338 Ultra using the 200 Grain version. I can't vouch for 308/06 velocity, but I can tell you there is usually nothing left except shrapnel at magnum velocity, large wounds.

From what I read it reduces pressure and fouling. The only downside I can find is they do not sell them in the 250 bulk varmint packs.

Never tried them in those calibers, but they work very well when used in a .30/30 on deer.

I've used the 150 grain Ballistic Silvertip before in my .30-06 and the 140 grain version in my 7mm-08. I liked them. I recovered one every now and then in my 7mm-08 but I never recovered any when shot from my .30-06. I used them back around 2001 or so and they were really soft and explosive in nature but when I tried them again a couple years ago, they seemed like they had been toughened up a good bit. What I liked about them where that they are super accurate from my rifles and shoot really flat compared to the other bullets I have shot. I shot up the box that I had but I've since went back to just plain ole soft point bullets in both rifles because the soft points in my opinion do just as good of a job on a deer as the more expensive bullets like the Ballistic Silvertip, and they are much cheaper too.

I just picked up a box of .308 cal. 168-grainers to load up for my '06. Looking forward to seeing if my rifle likes them or not.

I've got 100 of the combined technologies 140 grain .284. I've yet to start reloading them, but I shot the factory version winchester ballistic silvertips out of my 7mm mag and they are like the hammer of Thor on these pa whitetails. This past season I gave Hornady 162 grain Amaxs a try. I've only shot one deer with them, so I really can't compare yet. If I were you I wouldn't hesistate to use the Ballictic tips out of either one of your rifles--they are devestating out of my magnum. I've had one deer over the last five seasons that wasn't a bang flop with them, ans she was a big doe that ran about 30-40 yards.

One more thing, just watch where you hit them, so you don't ruin any meat. Depending on where you hit them it could get messy.

Have a friend that uses them in his 7MM STW and they go down and stay down.

I have used them, Nosler B-tips, in 7-08, 308 and 30-06 a good bit and they are my go to deer bullet. Keep the speed down and you wont be unhappy. Only issue I ever hear is when guys run em too fast.
