My friends just got some Hi Point pistols and have shot 100+ rounds out of 'em w/out any problems. I was contemplating getting one, but wondered if you guys knew about any safety problems with them (not the actual "safety" on the gun, but safety in general) heck, $110 for a .40 S&W doesn't seem like that bad of a deal, and if it needs repairing, they do it free of charge. Unless you guys tell me it's gonna blow my hand off, I think I will buy one, and tell you how she shoots.<BR><P>------------------<BR>God Bless and Shoot Straight

I would some my money...... Also a to the "free" repairs if it has to be shipped back to the company it will cost you $30+ a time UPS. I doubt they will cover the shipping.....Bob

My guess is that you get what you pay for.<P>I have a hard time believing that a Glock is no more accurate than a $105 pistol.<P>Plus, isn't that HiPoint mighty large for what it needs to be? Could that be the result of cheap steel being necessarily over-engineered to handle being a gun? It would seem that the troubles in that case would be premature wear of the locking lugs, ect.<P>Plus the cost of shipping if something does go wrong...besides, ever hear of a Lorcin or Jennings Bullseye gun?!?<P>I guess it depends on your budget and needs...for defense, forget it. Would you buy a $5 motorcycle helmet or a $3 fire extinguisher?<P>Just my musings...<P>Jonesey<P>
