Does anyone have any experience/recommendations on the Winchester Wildcat 22 rimfire rifle?

Total chit IMO. I was given a brick as part of a trade and I bet 20% wont fire, this is in 3 different proven guns. Did not mess with accuracy as I was just plinkin but WAY too many just wont fire.

Y'all like this. I had a Kimber 22 kit that I mounted on my Kimber .45. I had problems with feeding. The Kimber folks told me to shoot Winchester Wildcat ammo!

You are right. Its the lowest common denominator stuff. But, it does operate a Kimber when it fires.

I've not had any recently but about 10 years ago I shot thousands of them with only two FTFs and that was in the same revolver. Both of the FTF rounds fired in my 67. Kind of dirty but worked great in both revolver and semi-auto. No FTFs in my rifles, a Mod 67 Win. and a Ruger 10/22.

Used to shoot it all the time years ago with no problems, but I haven't used any of the current stuff.

Uh, fellas, I think that we may have a first in the history of the Campfire (grin) in that I believe someone's post has been misinterpreted. I think that he is asking about the Russian rifle, not the ammunition.

Low grade Russian junk. There are too many good rifles out there to waste $$ and time with a Wildcat.

You can hardly good wrong with a 980 Marlin or Mark II Savage 22 bolt gun or a Marlin 60 or Ruger 10/22 22 semi-auto.

You might find more user feedback over on RFC.

Had one, sold it to a friend for his kids first rifle. Shoots good, nice price (150). If the kid scratches it no problem. Does a 9 yr old really need a collector? It may not be the best out there but his son love's it! Another younger shooter joins the club!

They shoot just fine for $150 or so, come with three magazines, wood is decent, fit/finish is above average. Winchesters venture in to use Russian / Eastern EU manufactured .22 rifles.

As stated above, not a collector, its a shooter.

They look way to European for my liking, but there's always different strokes for different folks.
