This gal was a friend of mine in Alaska. She had lived there for years and had fished a little bit, but never caught a King salmon. I finally got her out on my boat on the Kenai River and got her hooked up. I've caught soooo many fish in my life that it's just as much fun for me to see someone else get a little taste of what I've been doing my whole life. Being an unpaid guide for all my friends was one of the things I miss most. The smiles, hugs and high fives were what made it all worthwhile.

Fish, good job.

You and I seem alot alike, anymore I'll fish if it's slow or I'm finding the pattern, when it hot fishing I put the rod down and concentrate on keeping those with me on fish and baited up.

Headed tomorrow for Baja and working on my buddy's house adding a room so we can accommodate more people, yellow tail and grouper are going crazy down there also, working vacation.

krp,

Yellowtail in Baha sounds awesome. I used to live in San Diego and still have a good fishing buddy there. He said right now the yellowtail are just off of Ensenada and are biting big time. The large variety of home guards too. I'm seriously considering a trip there this summer. It supposed to be an El Nino year and the tuna and such should be wide open. It's been almost 20 years since I fished the socal saltwater thing, but I've been drooling at the thought of hanging into a yellowtail or tuna again.

Take some time and fish if you can. Need pictures too.

Good fishing to ya and tight lines,

Would Framis frown on using a .410 to shoot halibut with?

It worked better than modified seal club I had. I whacked myself in the foot one too many times so I preferred to just shoot em.

The one I had wasn't exactly a sniper set up, but was a gun for fishin'. Slugs worked better than birdshot too. It just seemed kinda odd spittin' out #8s when you're eating fish.

That's on topic, isn't it? Sort of?
