Hi guys,
I did a search and nothing came up.
Anyone ever used this gear or Rifles?
The rifle looks cool and is a neat concept.
The gear looks like it is sturdy.

I heard about Kifaru a few months ago. They have a great forum on their website with lots on information and advice. The only item of theirs I've bought so far is their universal gunbearer. Used it during my successfull backpack deer hunt this fall and I am VERY impressed! That thing is incredible! The really nice things about it are that it holds your rifle in a way that is out of the way (more or less), comfortable, and easily/quickly brought into action. It made carrying my rifle a piece of cake.

Here is the link.

Try changing the dates at the bottom of the screen to all instead of just the last 2 weeks and re-do the search. I have one of their Late Season packs and absolutely love it.

I have a couple of Kifaru packs. They make a quality product, and stand behind it with excellent service. Patrick Smith, the owner is a gentleman, and hunter. He puts his field experience to work in the design of his products.

Another vote for Kifaru. I've had two Kifaru packs (Predator and now a Rendezvous) and love them. Paratipi and stove and Late Season are next on the list. It doesn't hurt that Patrick is great guy with a ton of real experience.

AK,

Jim F did a major job switch. He took a retail job in Sacramento which he thought would keep him fairly busy for awhile. H aslo had to move from Truckee to Sac. I miss his posts too, lots of godd advice came from him.

Northwest, Like many others here, I have two Kifaru packs and like them very much, quality gear. Patrick was the founder and owner of the Mountainsmith Company, until he sold it, if you're familiar with that name.

Great packs. Well made but a little complicated, but everything is there for a reason that a real hunter figured out. Patrick Smith is a great guy that really stands behind his stuff.
When I bought mine I bought every extra widget that went with it nearly doubling the price. If I had it to do over again I'd probably buy the base back with maybe the seat and gun-bearer and ammo holder and forgo all the extra add on bags unless I needed them for a specific purpose and use the money saved towards a tent or stove.........DJ

Remember this is all supposed to be for fun.......................

Sounds like you're set. I have the longhunter,paratarp,paratipi,4man tipi, small stove, and rambling rifle. I would like to have the 12 man for base camp [truck]. I am going to add the para stove for sure.

They are hard to shoot of the bench because they are so light. You have to hold the stock down instead of just letting it rest on your bag. That being said .75in. with barnes xxx and Bl-C2 in .308. That is good enough for me for hunting. At 4lb. 8oz. with scope I am really happy.

Cooterbrown - I have the 25-06, 280 & 338-06 - what barrels do you have? This gun weight 5.7 lbs all up. All barrels shoot very well - I have not shot the gun off of a bench rest. I just used a sleeping bag as a rest to break in the barrels and sight in. I am easily under 1 1/2" at 100 yards from that type of rest. This gun is such a pleasure to shoot and carry that I really don't even take my other rifles out of the closet anymore.
