with all the bashing of Cabelas lately I could not help posting this..... Just finished remodeling and moving into a new house... ran everything through our Cabelas card that we needed to remodel the house.... paid it off each month.... Just ordered and received a new Leupold VX3 2.5 - 8 matte Duplex.... and used my points to pay for it.... free shipping.... i.e. no cost to me... I just love getting free stuff p.s. I have never had any problems with cabelas... we even ordered some lights on line for the new house... the company charged us for the lights and never shipped... then notified us that they were going out of business and we needed to file with our credit card company.... called Cabelas and reported it... sent them to notice we received.... all was corrected in short order. very pleased.

I use my Cabela's Visa to pay for almost everything anymore.
If the bank would accept it for my mortgage and GMAC for my truck, I'd only have to write one check a month.

I'm planning on using mine to buy something from the gun room. The card says you can use it for anything Cabelas sells. I figure in a few years I will have earned me a nice Winchester 1895.

I saw a movie where only the military and the police had guns. It was called Schindler's List.

While the points/mileage deals seem free, one is paying in the end. I do need 3 new scopes. Better get started on a new home and a shop building.

Dang, I've used my piddly few points a few times, but I never had enough to go near a Leupold scope. Not even close.
I didn't understand a word you said, but whatever it was I'm right there with you.

Ive used my card and the points a bunch over the years and combined with discount coupons I'm way ahead of the game.
Elkhunter76,
Good score on the tent. That's about as good a tent as you can get. They're fantastic.

We do the same. I figure over the years I have gotten several thousand dollars in points. It would be interesting to know exactly how many...I might even look into that. I have had the card since 1995.

It is a great deal. I have no idea how much I've charged on the Cabela's card over the years but it is in the tens of thousands. Just today charged new living room carpet on the card. Also recently charged a $6,000 elk hunt, double points since it was Cabela's that sold it.
JUST BE SURE TO PAY IT DOWN 100% EVERY MONTH AND YOU WIN.

Used my points last fall to get a free Marlin 1894 44mag. Had a card at the same time that gave me a $150 shopping card with a $500 purchase. Since the Marlin was $500, I used the card to get a Nikon scope for on top. Walked out with a new 1894 + scope for the cost of a base and rings. Sweet!
