Im building a mauser .223 rifle with a G33/40 action. I have completed the bolt work, installed barrel, reamed, headspaced, mounted scope, finished a stock. The big problem I saved for last. the magazine and feed. I have tossed the idea around a mag assembly from a ruger 77-.223, and reweld to fit into the mauser triggerguard assembly, and weld feedlips on top of the ruger magwell for feeding. anybody done this or have any suggesstions. thanks Bill

I would like to here about the bolt work. Who, with what , how Ect.

I had a gunsmith tig weld the bolt face edge,turn on lathe to .223 specs. kept lugs cool. I altered the existing extractor to work with the .223. have fired 150 rounds (single shot) no setback on lugs, or headspace. works really well. it will be real nice with the mag well feeding. tried a 788 clip( cut and welded to the floorplate), it works, but you have to remove the floorplate to load. so I want it be a mauser feed.
