I need drawings for my 99. I can find lots of info on the newer mag fed models but nothing on the 'net for the older models. Mine needs a little work and I think I can do it myself, but I would sure feel better if I was sure where all the parts go back in

You Go Bubba Somehow that doesn't seem to help much

Serial #7393XX Problem: Not sure what it's called, but the device that kicks the empty out when the bolt is opened seem to have had a spring( not a coil spring as seems to be the case in the drawings I've seen) behind it that got out of position. Past experience with levers (very limited) is that things seem to want to fall out before they can be removed in an orderly fashion. I really don't want to end up with too many parts left over when I reassemble the rifle.

Thanks, the top one was close but not quite the same as mine. Possibly I can use the drawing as the rest seems simillar.

Tracks, just for curiosity's sake, can you give me the lever boss marking on your rifle?
Iy'll be a little letter and number on the front of your lever, just above the pivot pin, in a circle. Thanks.

Tracks, you are correct. The Cutoff spring on older models is a flat V spring. I don't know how it could get out of position unless the "u" shaped end broke off. I'll have to go to the shop and see if I have a drawing that will help, but as I recall it's pretty straight forward as to how the spring fits. I can only find one drawing that shows the flat spring. Go to Savage Parts http://www.savageparts.com/centerlever.htmand download the 99 Savage Book in PDF. The parts are shown on I believe it's page 25. HTH Regards, Woody

Mad Dog, the number is 19F Woody, thanks. The spring got out of position because I did something stupid trying to remove a stuck case.
