In tweaking QL to optimize correlation between load and velocity developed steps that can be taken include measuring of actual fired case volumes, Temperature adjustments, form factor adjustments for certain cartridges, slight changes (1 or 2 grains) in bullet weight to tune for bearing surface friction differences and lastly adjustments of the BA factor to tune lot to lot powder variations.

My question is once a BA is adjusted for a specific lot of powder is that "the number" or does loading that powder in a different cartridge (223 to 308 etc) change conditions enough to warrant a revisiting of BA factor adjustment. Since burn rate is effected by pressure conditions, I would suspect that each rifle chamber effects the burn rate (long throated Remington vs tighter chambers etc.)

I'm looking to answer this for myself but need so range time to get there and wonder what the group wisdom is.
