Bob ,are you planning on bringing oysters to the hunt,or
can you ship them to a resident when they become available?
I am also concentrating on getting my Ruger 375 as light as
possible , ordered some 350gr Woodleighes from Midway.
With 85gr Rel 19 ought to generate some recoil!

You really want me to bring my 416 Rem with 400 gr loads don't you.......

Okay he has been asked now! The question is "Do the guys need to bring anything like sleeping gear, other than personals?"

I also indicated that we would be eating regional favorites Friday night, consisting of stuff we bring. I'm still planning on crawfish, if the rain holds out. If not I suppose shrimp will have to do. Of course we'll have to have boudin. I've asked if we could have BBQ Saturday night, specifically one of Bart's specialties, and my favorite, brisket tacos.

Counting on it, and guacamole'. We may have to throw a few racks of ribs on the fire too. That's if any of these guys can hit anything. smile

I'm thinking I'll do a bunch of cooking.
You think a rack of ribs will be ok freshly cut from a slay'd piggy?

If I take an axis, you can put some of that on the fire,Bart/Pat. I'm not taking home any meat on this trip.

Just taxidermy stuff for me...coyote,BOBCAT and a nice axis or black buck. If my son gets his pig, you can grill all of it you like.

If it's a fat pig yes. Fresh is the best way. Bob, have you eaten axis? That is mighty generous of you! A little loin, stuffed with cream cheese, jalapeno, etc, wrapped in bacon and sizzled on the grill sounds like a great appetizer!

I'm pretty sure that any game meat needs to go through the "mortises" or it'll be chewy and tuff... If you shoot an axis,I don't think that there will be any problem giving that meat away...

Yes,I have and it's in my top 3. Just not bringing meat home this time,Pat. If I am lucky enough to take one, you'll have some going home with you, as well.

In the meanwhile, axis appetizers it is...maybe.

We can hit a specialty shop/grocery store on the way down,if you like,Pat.

I'm happy to take that drive down any one you wish, even if it means running inside to put down a few hundred at the blackjack table.

Been thinking about this... Not sure that guacamole is the way to go... Avocado slices might be a better deal...

I can volunteer for pico de gallo making as I eat about a pint of that stuff a week and have it down to an art.

I typically put chopped avocado in it...

I'll volunteer to take any axis meat somebody doesn't want...grin...

I've almost gone through 2 deer already...

I guess I can. Making pico for 100+ folks may take a "touch" of prep work and ingredients...

How much you reckon needs to be made?
