Finally got my custom 260 complete and in my hands.
Ruger 77 flat bolt action
260 rem caliber Pac Nor 8 twist 5 groove 22 inches
Satin blue finish by my local gunsmith.
Mcmillan Sako Hunter stock cut to 13.5 inches
Pacmeyer decellerator pad.
Original Ruger trigger still installed but have a Timney in hand to install.
Showing a lot of promise at the range with 129 Hornady Interlocks.
Still kinda shooting a little and then cleaning the barrel.
This is the only one I will ever have built. I had the itch for a long time and now its scratched.

Very nice. If you like cup & cores, you might try the Speer 120s also. How far back to the flat bolts date?

I really dont know the dates, but I think it came after the round top. Keep in mind I think.

I will try some of the 120,s I might just have a few of them laying around. What powder have you used with the 120's?

They started in 1968 and finished in the early 1970's.

I have shot flat bolt Rugers in .220, 243, .25/06, and 7MM mag.

They are nice rifles.

The stocks are thinner, especially in the fore end.

This one started life as a 243, I just bought the barreled action, the stock was not with it.

I had a flat bolt that was stolen from me in 1978. It was a really nice rifle that shot well. I still get riled when I think of its loss.

Ive only had one firearm stolen, knock on wood, and it was a S&W 22 mag revolver, and Im not sure it was stolen, my ex had it, and the truth was not in her. I just know it went missing and thats the story I was told.

Thats been many years ago now, and it still chaps my rear.

Awesome build. Much along the same lines as the one I've been collecting pieces for, HVA action, 6.5x55, 22" Shilen, McMillan Sako Hunter w/Edge. I'm also going to be leaning on 129gr. Hornady.

Ruger rings in target grey and the scope is a Weaver Grand Slam 3 to 10.

Thanks everyone for the compliments.
