As a kid, I had one hero... and have kept that in adult hood. The only guy who ever made the list, of " If you could shake hands and speak with one person in the entire world, who would you want it to be..." He flew this in WW 2... ![[Linked Image]](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/b7/P51-1_300.jpg) He is 87 years old now. Finally got to meet him and shake his hand back in the late 90s when he was giving a talk to a group of young kids in the Civil Air Patrol in Crescent City Calif.

I got to meet James Irwin when I was in elementary school in Tehran, Iran in the early 70s. He brought some moon rocks for us to look at. I was just fascinated by the astronauts. It wasn't till later that I found out that he was on an expedition to find Noahs Ark.

I don't know as I ever really had heroes as a kid. There were people that I looked up to for various reasons, but I didn't regard them as heroes. Many of those were people from history who were traditionally viewed as worth of admiration in that long-gone time. As I have gotten older, I have come to view many people (most of them younger) as heroes, not for any single deeds or feats, but just for the way they go about living their daily lives in a good way.
Not a real member - just an ordinary guy who appreciates being able to hang around and say something once in awhile.
