Anyone seen the Husqvarna rifles that have been imported lately. Old looking bolt action single shots in 30-30 and 32-20 etc? Look like interesting rifles. Anyone here have any experiece with one? Some seem to be missing extractors, wonder why this is and are any parts available?

I don't know about parts, but a friend took one of the .30-30's to Quebec on a cariboiu hunt we went on a few years ago and slew a really nice bull.
It was pretty typical caribou roulette. My buddy went and sat on the hill above the camp, just out sight of the tent, and the biggest bull anybody shot all week came walking along a little while later and stared at him from 50 yards.

I've fired one of the .25-20s imported a few years ago and it was slick. Parts would be the "Achille's Heel" of the thing, tho. Hard to figure where those might come and they would be hard to make, I think.

Who's got 'em and how much? A 32-20 or 25-20 might be interesting! Thanks. -WSJ

I would love to have one of them in 30-30, but have yet to see one in nice enough shape to justify the price folks seem to be asking for them. They do point like a fine shotgun...

Parts are compltely unavailable by all accounts. I had Simpson's bring a couple 30-30s to the last show they attended near hear. The one that was complete was beat to death, the one tha was nice was missing the extractor. I tried to switch the extractor from one to the other and it wouldn't work. Guess it was a total hand fitted operation, and from the looks of it, it would be something very difficult to reproduce. Too bad, I really liked the little rifle and had intended to buy one for my 30th birthday.

oh well, the one I found is really nice, other than the missing extractor of course. I don't need a rifle I can't use

If you found an old time gunsmith who was good with metal they MIGHT be able to come up with something. I was thinking you could probably mill a slot in the side of the bolt, and come up with some sort of extractor that could be attached by a screw. If course I'm not a gunsmith and figured by the time I had someone do this it would probably end up costing more then the gun cost originally.

Life is unfair.
A few years ago the guys who camp just a mile from our elk camp brought along someone's nephew. The kid was 13-14 years old and just a chubby, unhappy little guy. They took him up the crick about a quarter mile and dropped him off at a blow down...sitting there eating Cheeto's. The rest of them hadn't gotten out of earshot when they heard a shot. One of the guys went back to see if the kid was o.k. and found him standing over a 6x6 bull.

I see the Huskys were also offered in .45-70 caliber.

Cabelas in Ft. Worth has several in .32-20 and, believe it or not, one in .45-70

I think a .25-20 or a .32-20 would be cool to hunt with, but not without an extractor. Im sure someone will be able to fix this problem sooner or later.

If I remember correctly, they were more than $300 but less than $400. I can't get it closer than that, it has been several weeks. I do know that those guns have been there well over 6 months. They do have octagonal barrels, as I remember, but I thought they were a little pricy for what they were.
