Found another EG I might get
Ser # 5806XX--but the LBC seems to be 158 (or perhaps I58 or J58)
But, by the serial number it should be early 50's and an I or J would put it to mid to late 50's?

Does this make sense, and what year is it?

Thanks all

Would that 8 maybe be a B?

Ah, good thought--it must be a B even though sure looks like a 8.
If a B that would put it to 1950 by my files (but wasn't sure they were correct)

Judging by the ser. #, the 580 range would also put it after 1949 and before 1953 (my other 99 was in the 756 range and made in 1953.

Thanks! I'll check it out again today, but don't think I'll let this one get away from me like the other one did a week ago

frown Bummer--Another false alarm--not D&T, nice old Lyman reciever sight, but had a funky barrel band for a front sling swivel and grooves for it carved in the forearm--and the stud was loose too.
Knew the stock was refinished, but that doesn't bother me--Issue was it had been refinished due to a faint stock tang crack, so checked the buttplate and stock--they were the same #, but not the same as the reciever ser. #.

Just hoping to find even a common EG but not D&T, with matching numbers and a good bore--not so much concerned about the best blue or wood finish or if it has swivels, as I'll be shooting it
