We should be good to go on Thursday and only have a five hour drive. Will know more soon. Teri's schedule just changed a little and worse case scenario has us leaving here Thursday evening. Bet we can fudge that though...

Okie.....the majority are staying at the La Contessa Hotel on the RW. My son and I arrive around 345pm and then after picking up our rental, we'll grab dvdegeorge(Dan,the porn movie star)around 5pm at the gate and head on down to the RW.

Pat will have a happy hour and grub place picked out before long so if you arrive later, you'll know where to go. I'll give you a cell phone number so we can guide you in depending on where we are when you roll into Dodge.

Don't know the game plan for when we'll leave the next morning for the ranch but I may have to stay in San Antone until arraignments are finished.

Friday morning for me also. I'm sure I'll mis-out on a very good time in San Antonio though.

Still need to sight in the new 223, have to find the scope I want first. Wish work was not getting in the way. Leave in the morning for several weeks again (out to west Texas).
Wouldn't it be great to find cat, wow that would make it a trip.

You all are sure makin it tough to have any night partyin!! I may have to go out with the varmints, I mean the varmint hunters at night. Not sure I would shoot one of the big cats, but it would be nice to see someone chit themselves, if one came in to a call--unexpected like wink

Pat...
where is that last pic (bridge/water) of--sure is pretty.

MAN I CANNOT WAIT.
Just keep the fuggin snakes away- - - PLEASE! Oh, I got a pair of snake gaiters from Cabelas. Should be here any day now.

What kind of clothing do you all recommend? I made sure my thong and bra are packed aleady wink
Anyone use under armour "heat gear", or should I just bring jeans and tees? Any direction would be appreciated.
Shorts are not a good thing, unless you want to be picking up people off the ground after laughing themselves into passing out!

Thanks, later...

took me so long to write this, damn dogs got me up n down like a yo yo, we're twenty posts away from when I started frown

LeRoy,

If you got the time, I recommend a little swimming hole just down the road called Hamilton Pool. During the week it's not too crowded. Great place to relax and have a nice swim.

Sighted a couple of 223's in today. Very warm out here. Nice day for buzz worms. Had the range to myself. We have a great complex which is free to the public. You can check a key out a one of several locations or join the local sportsman's association and get one as part of your membership. Only thing I don't like is the azzhats that leave their trash out there. mad Seems I spend more time cleaning up after others than shooting.

45/70 is sporting Brockmann Iron sights and was shooting minute of deer last fall so it should be good to go. smile

I might have to fork out another 48 bucks?? JHC!!

What other huge financial hits await us?

Cheaper than Va where I'm a resident! Hell,it would be cheaper to pull a "licenses on me" than "drinks for everybody" in San Antone.

About 50 bucks for the regular hunting season license which includes all big game but not National Forests or Fishing which are additional stamps. Then there's a bow and ML stamp you have to buy,if you're into that,as I am. I don't know what a 5 day license costs. I've seen them for fishing but I always get a full season trout license as one does not want to be without when you come up on a honey-hole.

It's safe to say you can get it all plus fishing and parks for around 100 bucks.

Took a few rifles to the range this morning to check 'em. The 221 Fireball shot a 5/8th 5 shot group, it's coming. The 22-250, about 1/2" 3 shot group. Orange Crush (243AI) delivered a great half inch 10 shot group while fireforming brass with 105 V-Max's. I may just take it with regular loads smile. My light 243AI's group measured 0.4". The 250AI and the 270 shot great as usual.

what the hell am I to do? I can't take them all........

Didn't bother to shoot the 223AI, or either of the 6BR's or the 7-08AI.

Heck AZ nails a non-rez $150 just to be able to apply and accumulate a pref point. I bought a lifetime WY hunting/fishing license here that cost me around $600. An elk license is $57, Deer is $43 and antelope is $38. Sheep, moose and mt goat are around $120. Not sure what a fishing license is here anymore as I haven't had to buy one in years, but I am guessing around $30. It is all a small price to pay for living in paradise though. grin

The Texas system already has all of my info from hunting there in the past, so it will be quick and painless.

It was breezy here and I have a 1 minute dot Eotech on my 223,no magnification, but I managed a 5 shot 1.5 inch pattern (not a group) in the wind. It will do. I'm bringing the 45/70 for anything but varmints anyway.
