1. shoot a cat.
2. acertain death of said cat.
3. place weapon used in step 1. in a secure condition.
4. grasp previously killed feline by the tail.
5. swing cat in a full circle.

Step 5. should cause deceased feline to impact 1 or more surplus 8mm Mauser type rifles.

O.K. everbody together now,"ya' can't swing a dead cat without hitting an 8mm, lately".

Sorry, I just had to do it.

You can find good yugo mausers at several sporting good chains. Every gunshow I go to has several.

I've got several that are for all purposes in new condition. None cost over $100.00. Of course I have a C&R license and order direct from importers or distributers.

Prices are slowly creeping upwards. Turks are about $59.95 and m48's are around a hundred. The Yugo m24/47 is about $130.00 now, but are some of the best shooters. Many were rebarreled, refurbished and placed in storage for over 50 years.

Just got my first Mauser. The Commie guns were taking over the rack.
Got a couple of Enfields and a Turk Mauser to even things out. Trying to decide between some sort of Yugo Mauser, a Czech Mauser or a version of the K98 German Mauser.
My wife is pushing real hard for a Czech Mauser because she is of Czech ancestry. I would like a German Mauser that isn't one of Ivan's battlefield rebuilds.

The local fleet farm was selling turk mausers for $89.00 just before Christmas. Came in a cardboard box with plenty of cosmoline in them, I know because I got the task of cleaning one up for my great nephew for his Christmas gift.

When I finnaly got all the hardened cos out of the bore, it showed that it was in superb shape!

I got one last summer from a local gunshop for $30.00 because the safety wasn't fit correctly, it wouldn't engage! A couple swipes with a file fixed that. It too has a nearly perfect bore!

ROFLMA,

That's the best line fo the day. It's like reloading, you spend the same if not more. That's the reason I don't have a C&R.
