Whats everone eat on those long backcountry hunts? I know the Mountain House is popular,although not all of them get very good reviews. Does anyone make their own dehydrated meals?How do they compare to the MH and MRE's? I really want to try making some, but I'm always worried that they'll somehow spoil and leave me with food poisoning or at least a case of the running sh
ts on some mountaintop. I found a good site about dehdrating fruits and even canned meats to make meals,and it looks good on paper but before I go buy a dehydrator I'd like to know if anyone has actually done this and how it turned out.
I eat alot of the meal replacement bars on long hikes and found them to work pretty well, but sometimes a guy needs a warm meal,preferably with some meat in it.
