Does a Rem. 700 (magnum bolt) long-action need any modifications to properly feed a 7mm STW? Thanks...

I had a rem. 700 in 7mm rem mag punched to 7stw, the smith didnt need to modify the action at all. btw I like the cartridge but it needs a longer bbl. than the 24" factory tube I have.
