Looking to see what kind of consistent average accuracy owners are getting and with what loads for both calibers.

Factory or custom guns.

With the increase of new 'custom/premium ammo' by Fed/Noz/WW/Hornday, etc. I am curious to see how many are getting less than MOA groups. If you have Chrony data please inc. bbl length.

Thanks for all replies.

Tried some 140 gr. Fusion in a 7mm-08. Redonculously accurate. Under 1/2 inch. Other than that have not tried any others.

+1 on the 140 grain Fusion in the 7mm-08. I've tried several others including Remington ammo, Federal but the Fusion sure does shoot. This is out of my 7mm-08, which has a Shilen #3 installed by Shilen but then reworked by Kampfeld who did a number of things to it, have shot my best groups with this rifle.

Same with a Rem 700 Ti Mtn Rfl, 7MM-08 and Fusions. < 1/2".

7mm-08 Ti 700 likes the old Super-x 140gr load. Literally 1/2" group or better every time I've ever checked it.

Looks like the Fusion get the nod in 7/08 for sub moa, anyone else want to chime in?

Curious on 140 ABs in Nosler and Fed loads, as well as various 260 loads like 120 TSX/Fed load, and 130 AB in Nosler.

Thanks again.

Both my M7 and Remington Gander Mtn. 7mm-08 really like 140g ballistic tips

The new Hill Country Remington 700 in 7mm-08 I just bought on the Fire likes Federal premium ballistic tips in 140. 1/2" to 3/4" It might shoot better if it had someone else at the bench. I'm not the best bench shooter.

It did not like the federal premium trophy bonded bear claws that I have 7 or 8 boxes of. I'll be listing those for sale soon.

My Savage Model 14 Classic Compact(22" tube) really likes Hornady Custom 139grn SSTs. Shoots them about 3/4". It's the only thing I've tried out of it and I see no real reason to change.

Must be alot more 7/08 shooters, who use factory ammo that is...

I did find an article today if anyone wants to read on 260 ammo, it surprised me, but its good to know more new offerings are coming out, of this quality....even though I load more than 99% of all I shoot, save shotgun and rimfire.

I used to get very good accuracy in my 260 with Remington 120 Ballistic Tips. Then they ended their relationship with Nosler.

I also got pretty good accuracy with the replacement Remington AccuTip.

DD, I read a review that RPs 120 BT load actually shot better than Nosler's, but you know how different guns have their preference. That said, there often are 'trends' I believe in factory ammo, as there are in reloads.

Thanks.

Another plug for the Fusion 7-08 in 140's. Rascals shoot better than anything I've tried or loaded - although I haven't tried lots of hand loads since the Fusions shot around .5 and performed so well on deer...

Only in 338 Federal and 30-06. They're about as balls out as you'd wanna run a caliber IMO.

I clocked them in my Dad's o6 and got good speed as well. Seems to me the 180's were @ 2800 in a 26" tube and in the mid 27's or so with the 22".

The 165's shot ok, but the 180's were really accurate!

The 180's out of my old Ruger (been fire lapped) were right around 2800 in a 22" tube, which takes rather large doses of H4350 to duplicate.

Ironically the 30-06 is on permanent loan to my Dad (I of course have visitation rights)

The 338 Federals were in the 2600's... (IIRC?)

I'm wondering if its just something with the bullet design that makes them go faster than standard cup-n-cores?

My .260 Ti really likes Nosler's custom ammo with the 130 AB, Under 1/2" for three, good stuff.
