Hi all .. I hope every one had a great Xmas and happy new year !!!!!
I posted this in the reloading section but I might get a few better responses here :-)
My question is .. anyone have a few suggestions on loads they have found to work well with a 358 win and 7mm-08 ?
Yes I know there tons of books with data but I'd like to get the real scoop on proven loads .. I might get to do the ELK thing this fall (2005) in Washington St. or Oregon ..
the plan is for either 225grn, 358 win or 140grn in 7mm-08. I have tried the hornaday light mags in 7mm-08 but I don't like the 200grn silvertips from fed for the 358 win. so it off to the reloader I go ... these are new cal's for me ... but I do know my way around my rockchucker press
I shoot both cal's in savage 99's (love those 99's <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
Thanks ... Talon

H Talon--
I have 2 7mm08's in 99 Savages-one a custom one an original. Both will shoot about 1 MOA with the 140 grain Nosler Ballistic tip and 41 grains of IMR 4064. Two deer taken with that load--neither made it farther than 10 yards. Wish I could ask about 358 loads for my gun! Came close to getting one once tho!
Good hunting, Krag
