Hi,
Currently looking at monometal design bullets such as the Nosler E-Tip, Hornady GMX and Barnes TSX for hunting medium and large deer species with a .30/06.
Has anyone reloaded the GMX? Any thoughts (performance, load details etc.) would be welcome. Similarly if you've compared the other brands mentioned earlier I would also welcome your thoughts.
Thanks,

For deer all you need is a 150 anything in a non lead bullet. I found the 130ttsx and 150ttsx easy to get to shoot good. I also got the 150 e tip to shoot decent but not the 180 e tip. I just picked up some 165 gmx and will be experiementing hopefully next week with them. BTW I was able to push the 150 ttsx to 3100 fps in my 22" tikka with re 17 and no apparent pressure signs and good accuracy.

Would the 130gr and 150gr TTSX be too light for Elk, particularly at standard .30/06 velocities?

OK, if "large deer species" meant elk I apologize. The 150ttsx is absolutely up to elk. The 130 could handle it but there would obviously be better choices. I shot a 130 ttsx last year for our deer season out of a 308. I have harvested a 6x6 elk years ago with a 150 barnes xlc several years ago I got full side to side penetration with the exit blowing out the shoulder of the off side.

Hi Kraky111, Thanks again for the the information. That is very impressive performance from a relatively light projectile and large bodied animal.
