I have an old H&R Huntsman in 12 guage black powder that I have always had ingition problems with. I have gone to 100 grain charges with 1 1/4 oz of shot and this is the most relaible laod that I have found.
Does anyone have experience with these guns that they can shore with me?
thanks]

had one- a buddy now has it.
use 2f powder - 90-100 gr or equal powder/ shot loads.
double cards over powder, single card over shot.
breech is wide and flat so you need a good powder base to ignite, so light loads don't work. try the new magnum #11 caps - they are hotter. or find a nipple that takes musket caps.
before you cap the nipple poke a pin through the nipple as they seem to clog up quick (this is the gun i'm talking about ok) <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
