Thanks for the info... turns out that no one has been able to confirm having a solid frame 22HP that did not have a T/D barrel. All hav eboth the slot and the arrow and the "off"

270773 seems early for a 22" barrel to me but I am not the best with the years versusu serial deal... I think the 22" barrels started in 26 or 27 (doing this from memory so don't kill me).

lovemy99, correction, 270773 is indeed 20" not 22". Dumb mistake. Sorry about that. Would it be possible to spot interrupted threads by opening the bolt and looking from the breech? I don't have an early TD to check and 270773 looks full threaded from the rear.

Anything above 200,000'ish is going to be full threaded, unless it's an earlier barrel mated to a later receiver. And the barrel address would tell you that.

Prices on 99s down here are starting to run. That hi power solid frame mentioned in a thread at the Melbourne gun auction in fact belonged to me.

I bought it in the auction last october, sight unseen on a postal bid, when I got it I found it was not as good as the one I already had. Bugger, I paid $800.00AUD and put it back in the auction in hopes of maybe recovering my money, it just sold for $1,250.00.

I kid you not, its only 5 years ago I could have bought any 22 h.p I liked in Australia for $350.00. What was it Mr Dylan said about times changing.
