Due to buying several expensive Marlins I have to leave this one go. It is a 35Rem SC. I can't seem to load pix at photobucket(can't find the load page) So if anyone is interested I will email pix. The rifle has some hunting wear but is in very good condition. Bubba put a swivel in the buttstock and there is a raised knot in the wood. Could you confirm that first letter in the serial number is a "K"? That would put it as a 1953 model, so I'm assuming it is Ballard rifled and not factory drilled and tapped but has the wavy line patten on the receiver. Is it drilled and tapped for a scope mount at all?
Is that spot on the left side of the buttstock right next to the buttpad the raised knot you mentioned?

Jim-The serial # K39475
Barrel isn't marked Micro-grove
It is not a waffle top but is smooth receiver
No extra holes in metal-Not D&T for scope
Spot on buttstock-Yes the dark spot is the knot.

Fellas-I am going to drop this to $425 shipped and if it don't sell at that price it will sit beside my new 35SC Deluxe in the safe. Don't need 2 35 SC's, but not going to reduce any further. Thanks in advance.
