According to their catalogue the stainless featherweight is a short action in 6.5x55. Anyone know if this is a typo?

It must be a typo. I've never seen a Win 70 stainless chambered in 6.5x55 and I've never seen a SA Win 70 chambered in 6.5x55.

That's what I figured. I had on with blued/walnut in the same caliber and it was on a standard action.

Yes, That is a new offering for 05. I went to try and order on in 7mm WSM, and the store said Winchester said they will not be on market until after MAy. The price I was given was $699 too.

tzone Of course these are the guys that put the 257 Roberts on the long-action too, rather than the short-action. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" />

Their "short" is actually just shy of 3.1", so it may very well be.

Friend of mine has a Classic Featherweight in 6.5 Swede and it's on a long action.

It's kind of funny, CZ is dropping the 6.5X55 and Winchester is adding it???????

Winchester added this round at least a few years ago because I believe I got mine in 2003.
