Any suggestions for dinner? Preferably a place that serves the local brew. Been a while since I've been here. Henry's was always decent.

The Old Powerhouse restaurant just about directly under the Near Island Bridge is not bad either... But skipping the greasey fried fish joint next door has seemed like a really good idea every time I tried it.

The Second Floor has been there forever and has decent sushi, but it is steeper than the stairs into the place.

I've not made it past the First Floor, but I think you are right about the prices!

Like the Powerhouse, too.

Best Western and Comfort Inn are still playing ping-pong with the "good" cook, as of now the Comfort Inn (Airport) has him.

Thanks for the ideas, guys. We wound up just eating in the Best Western lounge. The ribs were pretty damn good....the Liquid Sunshine was excellent! May have to locate the Powerhouse tomorrow. That's a new one on me.

Does this mean the cell service is improving?

Follow the waterline directly below the Best Western, past the big processor (grounded) ship and on to the north. It will be beyond the bridge, on your right.

The First Floor is easily the worst "Chinese" restaurant I have ever eaten in...

Art,

Afraid I'm not doing cell work on this job. Working out at Narrow Cape. Thanks for the restaurant directions, and the warning about the first floor! If you need the boat looked on, let me know.

Pete,

I think I know the boat you speak of. The last time I was here, I thought I'd go check on it, for the owner. I had no idea the boats skipper was so community spirited. He was letting a nice homeless man crash on the boat, while he was in Anchorage! I thought that was pretty cool, and went and got the guy some food, and a jug. It didn't look like he was aware the craft was equipped with a head. The deck hoses right off so no harm, but I did think that was a bit inconsiderate, and might ruin his chance for a return invite. Some people! grin

Pete,

Oh yeah.....we're geared up. It's really starting to blow, and will likely not be a very pleasant day at work, tomorrow!

Ah Alaska where a 'good' summer is measured in the number of nice days.

It is blowing here in Anch. Are you in Kodiak?

I'm headed to the sauna.

Yes, I'm back. The pipeline is done and tested. Now I am kicking back for a while. Can I call working on the house kicking back?
