I have a couple of Marlin 336's which have been sitting in my safe for some time on which I would like to get some information. The first is a 336 RC in .35 Rem., ser.# J3xxxL. It has a flat top with some squiggly engraving and is not D&T. The bbl. measures 19.5". The rifle is in near perfect condition and has never had sling attachments.
The second rifle is a 336A, ser.# U27xxx in .30-30. It has burl walnut wood as nice as I have seen on a production gun. The stock is a monte carlo with cheekpiece. It is D&T with a 23" bbl. This rifle is 98% blue and wood with only a 1.5" hairline scratch on the receiver and some wood denting from the action of the front sling swivel.
What are the dates of mfg., and what would anyone guess as to values?
Thanks!

I don't know the values of your rifles but the .35 Remington was manufactured sometime in 1952 (J prefix).
Your .30-30 Win. was manufactured sometime in late 1960 or early 1961 (U prefix).

I think pictures are in order.
Fall seven times, stand up eight.
