Anybody know how long a Trijicon tritium scope will glow, typically, before it need to go back for a recharge?

Years, according to the Trijicon literature I've seen. Also, the Trijicon Accupoint scopes are dual illuminated so if the tritium dies out, then the fiber optic system will continue to operate.
Tritium lasts a long time; I have a 70s vintage Omega Speedmaster watch with tritium hands that still glow just fine.

I asked the CS rep this at Trijicon a few years ago and I believe the answer is 14 years or so.

The half life of tritium is 12 years. That means in twelve years the tritium will be half as bright as when you first got the scope.
I had night sights on a Mid-eighties pistol. The night sights were still bright enough to use but picking up the dots took an extra second. Had them replaced last year and the new sights almost seem to bright.
So in about twenty years you might need to replace the tritium.

I have a 10-yr old Trijicon scope, and I asked a factory rep about the tritium bead's life. They figure about 15 year effective life given the 12.3 yr halflife of H3. You send them the scope and about $60 and they return it in about 10 days ready to go.

Thanks fellers, I'm looking real seriously at getting an accupoint for this fall and was just wondering what I could expect out of the tritium part of the sight.

Durring normal use till dusk, you won't see the tritium because the fire optic part illuminates it better than the tritium. It's only at the last part of shooting light when it's dark, tha the tritium glow will be noticable. That said, I love my trijicon
