Well, my first ever build is finally done and will be arriving tomorrow.  Thanks to Steelhead for triggering the initial thought of a 280AI, to Clay for the donor/stock (and for pool pics), and to Dogzapper for a bunch of advice along the way. 280AI Remington LSS action PacNor Super Match SS, custom measured/contoured, 24", 1-10 twist, bead blasted Remington trigger tuned to a crisp 2.5lbs. Callahan Pin Bolt Ti fluted, web skeletonized & polished by Kampfeld McMillan KS stock Pillar bedded and barrel free floated Painted/Bedded by Charley @riflestockpainting.com Will top with Talley LW Lows and Leupold VX-II 4-12x40 LR Weight: Don't know yet. You sir have been had. With help from guys named Steelhead and Dogzapper? I think you should take that pic and list it in the classifieds right away, your will prolly contract riflesyphilitis upon opening the box.

The pics are from Charley, and yes, I can't wait to open the boxes tomorrow! The work on my first build was a lot of fun and the wait has been agonizing. I'll snap some close-ups after it arrives and I get the scope mounted. I've heard great things about Charley's work and if the pics do the rifles any justice at all, I'm sure I'll be thrilled once they arrive (he painted another one for me...). Very nice rifle. Please post some pics when you you get it scoped and I'd be curious to know the overall weight. What is the contour on that barrel?

Thanks! Going to a ballgame tonight so I'm gonna have to wait until tomorrow (if you can believe that) to open it up and scope it. The barrel was custom measured and contoured to fit the KS stock. I'll post pics of the barrel drawing with more pics of the rife tomorrow.

Mine is very similar in theme and I bet in proposed use: Rifles Inc. Lightweight Strata, Sucks SA, .284 Win; a few oz over 6lbs. It shoot great and I really like it.. What bullet/load? I found an insane load with the 120 Ballistic tip for my two 280AI's.
Why is it called a double u, should'nt it be called a double v?
