100gr TTSX works pretty darn well. The 100gr GK is a little too soft for me at anything under about 200 yards.

I have used the 100 gr. bullets but I like the 117 or 120 gr. bullets in the 25-06 as they hold up velocity better at extended range and have less wind resistence in our windy Idaho...The 117 gr. bullets kill just as well as the 100s and ruin less meat with bloodshot sides and backstraps. The give two holes and leave better blood trails if the animal runs as a rule.

LateBloomer, People might freak out, but...I shoot plain jane 100gr Corelokts out of my .25-06. If I am not shooting Corelokts, I shoot 100gr Ballistic Tips. In the last 4 years, I have killed an antelope with a frontal spine shot (corelokt), a mule deer with a front shoulder shot (corelokt), and a blacktail with a neck shot (ballistic tip). The antelope and blacktail died in their tracks, literally. The mule deer went 40 yds. I'm not saying that my data sample means anything, and I am not saying that these bullets are better than any other. I am just saying that I use them and that they have worked (so far) for me. Here's pics of the antelope: https://www.24hourcampfire.com/ubbth...oming_Antelope_Hunt_With_Fel#Post3376882Here's pics of the mule deer: https://www.24hourcampfire.com/ubbth...Shot_the_Ugliest_Buck_In_Was#Post3404297Good luck in your choice!

I use the 100 gr Sierra SPBT as a rockchuck and coyote bullet from my .25-06 Rem.
Have had excellent success with the 100 gr Barnes TSX, and the 115 Berger VLD on mule deer.

100 gr Hornady IL in my 257AI at 3140 fps kills deer well. The bullet is always all tore to hell, but the results are always the same, dead critter.

I used 100 grain Sierra SPBT's using max charge of IMR 4350, CCI 200 primers running in the neighborhood of 3300 fps. Accurate and flattened deer like a lightning bolt. But, that was my rifle.
Keep your powder dry and stay frosty my friends.

Now for many years I used the 1/4 Bore for hunting whitetail deer using a 120 grain Nosler Partition bullet. It worked like a charm for me. I liked the 100 grain bullet for shooting coyotes and groundhogs too! It just bucked the wind better and you can smack a song dog from any direction.

Thanks gang! After reading all your posts I decided to go with Hornady Inter-lock 117 grain bullets! I wanted a bullet that was a bit harder and could buck the wind and retain energy down field...Hence the 117 grainer Plus Midway USA had the blemishes on sale for a steal...so I bought a motherload of them Thanks for all the input as it's helped me to make a better decision for my situation!

Roland,
The 100grn NBTs are descent bullets for lope size game. They blow nice size holes in them if that's what you're after. I prefer the 115 NBTs as they seem to hold together alittle better. I pinned both shoulders on an 8pt a few yrs back with the 115 and had a nickle size exit(DRT). I rarely shoot for shoulders, but that one impressed me for the little BT.
I also had some good luck with the Sierra GK 120 HPBTs over 55grns of 7828 for 3175fps. Nasty on whitetails.
In my BDL I was getting 3150-3200 with 115-120s over 55grns of 7828 lit by WLRs. Mine would run the 100s up to 3400. Sent her off to Kirby Allen to have another 25-06 built.
Have a good one,
loder

100g TTSX have proven to work well on antelope in my .257 Roberts at +P velocities, Ruger M77, 22" tube.

No, I'm not a Ruger bigot - just an unabashed fan of their revolvers, M77's and #1's.
A good .30-06 is a 99% solution.

The first two deer I ever killed were with a .25-06 and 100gr Nosler BT's. They shot superbly, and the first buck took one in the ribs at 200 yards, walked 15 feet and piled up. The bullet exited.
The second was a doe standing broadside, and the bullet landed perfectly 2-3" behind the shoulder. It struck a rib going in, cartwheeled around, got one lung and part of the heart. It exited, believe it or not, out the bottom of her belly even though the doe was standing broadside. She left exactly one drop of blood, but I did manage to find her 100 yards away.
I later read that Nosler considered that bullet a "varmint" bullet at the time. I also bought a chrono a few years later, and learned I was probably under-loading them a fair amount. I see Nosler is now calling them suitable for deer & antelope, 3100 fps max impact velocity. Don't know if the jackets are any tougher
YMMV, odds are they will work fine on small deer but I think I would prefer heavier/tougher to ensure you get both lungs.

My favorite load for my 25:06 Encore is an 85 grain Nosler Ballistic tip with 58 grains H4831. I use this load to shoot does and hogs in the head at 200 yards.

The 25-06 shines as a deer cartridge with a good 100gr bullet. Always has, always will.
If three or more people think you're a dimwit, chances are at least one of them is right.

Has anyone tried the 110 NAB?
There is no accounting for taste.
Experience is a great thing as long as one survives it.
Generally, there ain't a lot that separates the two however, Barely making it is a whole lot more satisfying than barely not making it.

Waders, I really like the story of your goat hunt. I didn't read the other yet but will now. Thanks for sharing.

I shot Sierra 90grHPBT bullets several years at smallish Southern whitetail and had great luck. Normally I even had an exit. Had one bad experience on a deer quartering to me and switched to 100Gr Nosler Partitions at a little over 3400fps. No more problems except bloodshot meat. Since I now mostly hunt in thickets and hardwood bottoms I usually pack leverguns. Goat
