You should also load up on about 20 tubs of lump blue crab and turn these gents onto Chesapeake Blues--

I bought several tubs from Wegmans for this weekends competition. We're doing mini-crabcake sliders with a small side of sweet corn chutney.

David...according to Pat and from what I saw in the pic, it looks like the blue crab is in their waters, as well.

Crawfish and crab is already on the menu.

Don't worry about it Bob... You're spending enough on this trip... I was hoping that someone would bring some that they found... A hundred dollars it too much money for some damned fungus... smile

Bart...I'd be pleased to get you a couple of pounds if you like, buddy. It would be my pleasure. Up here,I'm lucky to get 12-30 mushrooms on a hunt and it is nothing but a hit or miss lucky find at our usual honey holes.

You may find this hard to believe Bart but morel poaching is worse than deer and turkey poaching around my parts and our place in WVa.

But, you just say the word and I'll have them there for you.

Interesting that you post this because I was talking to the owner of Captain Whites down on the wharf and he's now buying all of his retail blues from LA. He sells local blues to local restaurants. He was definitely worried about supply chains but said he would absorb the increases so as to not compromise his customer base. I believe him but we both agreed and contend the best blues still come from the Bay. Even over SC blues.

I really fear that with all the hits our local waters are taking that blue crab from Asia and India will continue to be on the rise. For those who know and appreciate blues you can tell the difference instantly.

There's still too much snow in the places where I see people shrooming every year.
