In the last issue of Rifle or Handloader , there was a column about Fiber Optic sight protectors. from a company named Leatherman( not the Tool company. (blackpowder bags.com). It was advertised at $20,but when I called them they were only $12+shipping. I had them send me one. I got it today. It looks pretty clumsy, but probably worth the money. Mostly I got it to keep from damaging the front sight of my inline while carrying it the scabbard. It's a two pice plastic affair that you take your front ferrel of your ramrod and replace it with this device. Comes out looking like a big lump on the end of the barrel, It has two ears that are positioned on ecach side of the front sight. Sorta like the sight protectors on Garands, but bigger. It is suppose to work on 12 gauge shotguns also.

If God wanted you to walk and carry things on your back, He would not have invented stirrups and pack saddles
